Hello from Jared, Anna, and Dylan!
Thank you for taking the time to get to know us and considering us as you make the difficult decision of who will parent your child. We are so excited to grow our family through adoption again and to welcome another child into our family and home.
One thing that makes us work as a couple is that we have similar interests and love spending time together. We live an active and healthy lifestyle and our weekends are usually a mix of doing things as a family like going to the park or a museum, and visiting with family and friends. Not only are we each other’s best friend but we make an excellent team. We share a similar sense of humor, interests, and vision of how we want to live our lives. We would like nothing more than to share the love we have for children with another child and make our tight knit family complete.
After struggling with infertility, we decided to pursue adoption rather than further infertility treatments. We are so glad we did because we adopted our son Dylan in February 2017, and he is the joy of our lives. We love being parents and can’t wait to expand our family. We are lucky to have an open relationship with Dylan’s birth parents with frequent updates and in-person visits. We are glad that in addition to being siblings our children will be able to share the experience of being adopted.
The three of us are huge animal lovers. Our family includes our loyal dog Murphy, and our sweet cat Charlie. They are a part of our family and we couldn’t imagine our home without them. Between Dylan, Murphy, and Charlie we have a lot of laughter in our home!
About Anna (by Jared):
I truly consider myself one of the luckiest guys on earth that I get to spend the rest of my life with Anna and share the joys and challenges of parenthood with her. One of the things I admire most about Anna is her internal drive and unconditional love she has for her family and those in need. Anna is an in-house labor attorney for a public company. She chose in-house work over working at a big law firm so she could have regular hours and flexibility.
I knew shortly after meeting Anna that she was born to be a mother. So I wasn’t surprised when we brought our son Dylan home that she was so passionate about taking care of his every single need in a nurturing way. Anna is a natural at being a mother -- she is so calm and puts a lot of thought into parenting. It has always been her dream to be a family of four and I am honored to be her partner along the journey to make our family complete!
About Jared (by Anna):
Jared is an incredible husband and father. He is very down to earth and has many interests and hobbies like doing handy projects around our home, reading, real estate, classic cars, and going to antique and resale shops. People often comment on what a good listener Jared is -- something I credit to his mom and older sisters.
Our greatest adventure to date is being parents to Dylan. It’s been a joy to see how much Jared loves being a dad, and Dylan is crazy about him too. Jared can always make Dylan laugh and is a patient, kind dad. Jared puts a lot of thought into parenting and has read a number of parenting books. We are true equal partners in parenting.
Jared works in the financial industry and is passionate about personal finance. He works from home and has a flexible job which has been great with having Dylan.
We live in a diverse, family-friendly neighborhood on the north side of Chicago. We’re a block from Lake Michigan, and we have playgrounds and parks at either end of our street that we frequently take Dylan to. We also live down the block from a Chicago Park District site where many kids take classes and play sports. We were lucky to find an educational and nurturing daycare for Dylan that’s within walking distance to us. Dylan loves it and has learned a lot from his teachers and the other children.
Our favorite thing to do is go to Anna’s family’s lake house in Michigan for the weekend. It’s a casual, homey house on a small lake and is right next to a state park where we’re always exploring new hiking trails. We love going to the lake house and being in nature to balance our lives in the city. We go up in every season and in the spring/summer enjoy swimming in the lake and kayaking, and in the fall/winter hiking or cross country skiing in the woods, and reading by the fireplace. We have loved sharing Michigan with Dylan, and he has had a great time exploring nature.
Our extended family:
We are very lucky to have almost all of our family nearby in the Chicago area. We are both the youngest of four siblings and have a total of 12 nieces and nephews. Anna’s parents live within walking distance to us and frequently have Dylan over for a few hours in the afternoon. Jared’s parents live in the house where he grew up in Beverly on Chicago’s Southwest side. We see our families regularly and are close to our parents and siblings. Our families were overjoyed when we added Dylan to our family and are very involved grandparents, aunts/uncles, and cousins. They can’t wait for another little one to love!
Thank you for taking the time to read a little bit about our family. We wish you all the best as you decide what is best for you and your baby..
