Molly and Chris

Hello!

We’re Molly and Chris and we have two children – Christopher and Chase.  Adoption is a brave and loving choice, but we are certain that it’s very difficult decision. Please know your child will grow up happy and loved in our home.  We are looking forward to getting to know you and we hope getting to know us brings you comfort and the absolute certainty that your child will be safe, happy, educated, and loved by us, and our large extended family.  It is such a loving thing you are considering for your baby, and we are excited to meet you!

We now live in a lovely west suburb of Chicago with great schools and community.  We have a German Shepard/Husky mix dog with blue eyes named after the first dog to go to space, Laika, a cat named Buzz, and two doves named Atticus & Apollo.  Lots of noise! Molly loves being outside as much as possible (she grew up on a farm in rural Iowa…remember).  She has a rose garden with a fountain, as well as a vegetable garden and other flowerbeds.  If it will grow in Chicago, then it is planted in our yard!

Summertime allows us to spend a lot of time swimming in our pool.  It seems the whole yard revolves around having fun.  Right next to the pool is a large BBQ.  There is also a jukebox filled with “bad” music!  Last summer we hosted our niece’s baptism with a BBQ and party.  Every year we host an enormous Christmas Party.  We have a local Chicago Jazz Trio perform Christmas songs, the house is decorated festively, and we serve food that Molly spent all week making…YUM!

When not home, we are traveling nearby or faraway, or to visit grandparents, brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews.  Last autumn we took a family trip to Paris and for Spring Break we visited the Grand Canyon and Los Angeles.

Another favorite is Chicago! Living near one of the largest most dynamic cities in the world is a tremendous opportunity, and we make the most of it…Jazz Fest, Blues Fest, Taste, museums, zoo, air shows, car shows, boat shows, the beaches and bike paths.  If it is happening in the city, we want to be a part of it!

Molly about Chris:
Chris grew up in the south suburbs of Chicago, and has one brother and a couple very close cousins.  He enjoys working outside whether on a garden, boat or car!  He loves learning and challenges, as well as any opportunity to help a friend.  He has a contagious laugh and an incredible ability to fix everything!   He is a senior executive and successfully runs a division of a large company.

Sadly, Chris’s first wife passed away from cancer when his sons were age 10 and 15.  He is already an amazing father so embracing more children into our family is very natural. Chris is intelligent, always inventing or creating and one of the kindest most optimistic people I’ve ever met.  Every day I’m happy to call him mine and can’t wait to raise a baby with him!

Chris’s father retired to Florida.  He lives in a house on a canal that leads to the ocean.  He has a fishing boat docked in his backyard.  It’s been one of our children’s favorite places to fish and swim, and enjoy the sun.  We visit as often as we can!

Chris about Molly:
Molly grew up on a large farm with a big family in rural Iowa.  She moved to Chicago for college and received a degree in photography.  She went on to develop her own interior styling business.  Molly has loved and raised my children. She is exceptionally loving, friendly and wise. Even Molly’s nieces and nephews call her their “Molly Mom”. One of the best references for Molly as a mother is that all of her siblings have Molly listed as the person who should raise their children, if anything should ever happen.  She enjoys travel, design, and making our home happy.  She also enjoys entertaining, whether a large family get-together, or a night with a couple neighbors.

Molly’s parents still live in Iowa at the family farm.  It is a great place to enjoy holidays and the outdoors.  A trip around the farm on the tractor during harvest is a must.  Her brother, sister and their children all live in the same area.  It makes for large family gatherings!

Christopher:
At 19, Christopher stands at a towering 6’4”--he’s a big teddy bear though!  Kids love Christopher and because he’s the oldest cousin all the kids hang on him!  He usually dresses up as Santa Claus on Christmas Day to entertain his younger cousins!  Christopher played football and enjoyed many other sports in high school and now, as a freshman at The University of Alabama, cheers his new favorite team.  He misses home, but is enjoying the challenges of college.  He is looking forward to being a big brother for a second time!

Chase:
Theater or Space?  Swimming, bike riding, or building another computer?  Creating, playing, exploring!  He loves it all! Our Chase loves being outdoors as well as working on anything with a computer in it!  He is 14 and a freshman in high school, currently in a competitive robotics group, but considering a few other extracurricular options.  He is looking forward to the excitement of being a big brother.  He already has plans as to what he will teach his new sibling!  He’s going to be an amazing big brother!

In closing:
At this very difficult and emotional time in your life, we want you to know that we will be there for you as much as you need us. Our own story for a child has been long and disheartening. We hope that our paths have crossed for a reason and that we are the family you are seeking.
