Lisa and Kurt (and Jaxson)

Dear Birth Parent(s),
We are Lisa and Kurt and we have always known that we wanted a house full of love, laughter and children. We struggled with infertility for many years, but never gave up our dream of having a big family. Our family has embraced the miracle of adoption, with the placement of our beautiful son, Jaxson.  We cannot imagine our lives without him as he has brought our family so much joy and happiness. Adopting a second child is our greatest wish, and we would be honored to be chosen as your child’s adoptive family.

When it comes to open adoption, we would respect your wishes. This is a personal decision and we would love to work with you to find the type of contact that you are comfortable with; we are open to anything from letter and picture updates to in-person visits.

We understand the difficult decisions you are facing, and the unselfish love it takes to choose adoption. We know that you want to find a loving family who can offer your child every opportunity to thrive and succeed.  If you choose adoption, we hope you’ll decide that we are the right family for your child.

A bit about us
We have known each other since high school but did not start dating until after college when Kurt returned home from his service in the Army.  We were married in a beautiful outdoor wedding in 2007. We enjoy spending time with our friends and family who live nearby.  We also love to travel the world and can’t wait for our children to experience different cultures.

In the summer, we look forward to our annual family vacation to Northern Wisconsin with grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins. During these vacations, we enjoy boating, fishing, hiking and so much more.  We also love to spend time with our energetic Golden Doodle, Cooper.  Jaxson and Cooper are best buddies.

Jaxson was born in the winter of 2014, and we have enjoyed watching our little man grow and develop his unique personality. He keeps us on our toes with his energetic spirit and sense of humor. We cannot imagine Jaxson growing up without a sibling, as we both come from large, close-knit families.  We want to provide that same experience for our children.

About Kurt by Lisa
Kurt is an intelligent, loving and well-respected man who is an engineer at our local power plant.  He has a scientific mind and enjoys the challenge of fixing things. He recently enjoyed finishing the basement in our home.  Kurt is one hundred percent dedicated to all that he takes on which has awed me from the moment I met him.  He joined the military right after 9/11 because he wanted to help our country.  He is the bravest person I know and any child would be lucky to call him Dad.

Kurt has been a very hands-on father.  He has been so patient with Jaxson and loves to teach him new things. Their favorite thing to do together is read stories at bedtime. It has been heartwarming to watch Jaxson and Kurt’s relationship grow.

About Lisa by Kurt
Lisa is a dedicated middle school science teacher who forges relationships with her students in order to pass on her love of learning. She is a beautiful, loving and amazing woman who is devoted to Jaxson, her family, her students and me.  She continually tries to better herself, whether it’s trying a new recipe, learning a new teaching strategy or just going to the gym.  Lisa’s transition into motherhood was seamless because she was always meant to be a mother.
Lisa is my perfect match and together we make an excellent team.

Kurt’s Family
Kurt has an older sister and two very loving and supportive parents. His sister, Jodi, is married and has two beautiful children. Jaxson enjoys sleepovers with his grandparents and cousins as well as trips to the zoo and picnics in the park. Holidays are spent with Kurt's extended family which includes grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins. One of our top priorities is to continue family traditions and spend lots of time together.  Kurt’s family is excited to welcome another child into the family, and their support means the world to us.

Lisa’s Family
Lisa has an older sister and younger brother.  Her sister is married and has two amazing children. Lisa’s brother was recently married and they hope to add to their family soon. Lisa’s family lives close by, so she is able to spend a great deal of time with her parents, siblings and their children.

The family looks forward to annual summer vacations together. Holidays are always spent with family and filled with good food and lots of laughter.  Jaxson and his cousins enjoy swimming, going to the park, visiting local museums, taking walks by the river and much more.  Lisa’s family is also looking forward to welcoming a new baby.

About Jaxson,
Jaxson is an empathetic and caring child. He is good natured and has been described by others as being a “little gentleman” with a loving nature that is contagious.  He amazes us with his intelligence and curiosity.  Jaxson loves animals, enjoys the outdoors and anything that has to do with trucks. His smile lights up a room and melts our hearts!  We feel incredibly fortunate to have been given the privilege of being Jaxson’s parents.

Our Promise
We promise to love and cherish your child always. We plan to send our children to the best schools so that they acquire the skills necessary to be successful in life. We promise to lead by example so that our children have strong morals and values; we’ll instill a strong sense of self-worth and integrity so that our children are confident, caring, and kind.

We’ll support our children in their interests and encourage them to explore their passions.  It is our hope that our children will be happy, healthy, and confident and we will do our very best in making sure that they have every opportunity to become their “best selves.”
Most important, we promise to shower your child with love so that he or she will always feel safe and valued.  We are excited to get to know you.
