Dear Expectant Mother,
We are so excited to become parents. To finally have our home blessed with a child would be a dream come true. Our families have instilled in us a strong set of values that has given us the basis for providing a very stable, loving home.
Thank you for taking the time to read our profile. We realize this is a difficult decision for you and thank you for having an open mind towards adoption. It takes an incredible amount of courage and love to do what is best for your child, and we feel privileged to be considered as adoptive parents. We have so much love to give and hope that you will allow us the opportunity to share that love with your child.
Our names are Christine and Dan. We’re an affectionate, fun-loving Indiana couple looking to expand our family. We met during the summer of 2011. Dan’s father and Christine were neighbors at the time. One day while Christine was out mowing the lawn, Dan peeked through the blinds to check her out. The rest is history. We have been together for six years now, and married for four.
We share a deep love and respect for each other. When texting each other and our conversation nears the end, Dan writes: “Love you” and Christine texts back “Love you more”; Dan usually comes back with “Love you most”. Those words pretty much sum up our relationship!
When we married in 2013, we were eager to start our family. Sadly, our wish for a baby did not come true. So after a few years of a challenging fertility journey, we realized that adoption would be our best (and only) path to becoming parents. We cannot wait to bring a child into our home and family.
A Note From Christine
I am a paralegal for a criminal defense attorney in Northwest Indiana. In my free time, I enjoy cooking and baking desserts. I especially like making treats for Dan to take to work for his co-workers. Like my mom and grandma, I’ve always wanted to be a stay-at-home mom. I’m very lucky to be married to a man who likes being the bread winner, so I can stay at home to raise our child.
I’m creative and enjoy crocheting blankets during the cooler months. I’ve made all the baby blankets for our (five) nieces and (four) nephews, ages 12 to 1. During the summer months, I enjoy gardening and am already planning my vegetable garden.
I’m the second oldest of six kids and have always wanted children of my own. My older sister is Jennifer. After me, I have a brother, Paul, then three more sisters: Angie, Patty and Missy. Angie and Patty are both married with children. The kids range in age from one to seven. Patty also has a baby on the way. Our Catholic faith is important to us. Every Sunday, our family attends mass together, often filling two pews.
Growing up, my dad worked for the government and my mom stayed at home to raise the kids. We didn’t take any big vacations, but when the local newspaper offered a $4000 scholarship to those who delivered papers for five years, we devised a plan. Since there were six of us, we split up the work and the money. After delivering newspapers for 15 years, we took a family trip to Walt Disney World. That vacation was magical!
A Note From Dan
I am a pipefitter and currently work for a union. My work day starts at 7am and I’m usually home by 4:30 pm, but there are times when I work a lot of over time. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with Christine. I also enjoy fishing with Christine’s father and spending time outdoors.
My mom and dad are Jeanne and Michael and my younger sister is Anne. I have always enjoyed being Anne’s big brother. After my mom passed away, my Dad remarried. My stepmom Diane has twin daughters who have kids of their own. Our family enjoys getting together as often as possible. Anne’s husband, Josh, is like a brother to me. They have two children, Ethan, 12, and Madison, 8. Christine and I enjoy having Ethan and Madison spend the night when Josh and Anne want to have an evening out. We hang out, eat pizza and watch Disney movies together.
My large size may intimidate others, but I’m really just a big kid at heart. I enjoy spending time with our nieces and nephews. At Christmas, I always splurge on gifts for the kids. The first year we married, I bought the younger nieces and nephews giant Teddy Bears. Two Christmases ago, we got them fishing poles.
Last summer, Christine’s parents rented a home on a lake in northern Indiana for all the siblings (and their families) to spend the week together. We had the best time teaching the little ones how to fish. We also enjoyed swimming in the lake, tubing and taking boat rides on the pontoon. It was a great opportunity for the family to be together, and we’re excited for more family vacations in the future.
