Center for Family Building strongly believes that birthparents have certain rights to which everyone in the adoption should adhere. Though law does not legally guarantee all these rights, CFB strives to provide services with respect, sensitivity and regard for these rights throughout your adoption experience.

The right to be treated with respect and dignity.

The right to confidentiality.

The right to choose my baby’s adoptive parents.

The right to determine the degree of openness between myself and the adoptive family.

The right to develop my own hospital plan.

The right to provide my child family history information.

The right to receive counseling during my pregnancy and following the birth of my child.

The right to sign final surrenders when I feel comfortable with my decision.

The right to parent if I so choose.
